Hi, my name is Tiffany, I’m a mom who likes getting stuff for Mother’s Day.
Sorry, folks, I like stuff.
I know that I should go for experiences over things. I enjoy Mother’s Day experiences, like brunch with the family, spending the day at the park or a special Mother’s Day dinner.
Yes, those things are lovely but I also enjoy getting things. I am not ashamed to say it.
I know there are some who may view it as selfish but I view it as getting things I enjoy from people I love. It gives them further insight to me as a person, not just as a mom. I believe our kids, husband, significant others need to see that side of us. Besides, if they are buying gifts it may as well be stuff you like or use. Who actually wants a new vacuum (unless it comes with a cleaning crew to push it)?
My point here is that moms should get things they actually like. This goes for dads as well when it’s their turn next month with Father’s Day. Getting stuff we actually want fits right into self-care, which we all need to focus on.
So, when my family buys me things, they see that I am not just a structure-loving type of mom but that I am sarcastic, have offbeat humor and I enjoy things.
What type of things? Glad you asked because here’s a little gift guide I put together not just for your viewing pleasure but for the eyes of my husband and kids.
1. Can’t Adult today travel mug //2. Chanel //3. Arden’s Garden //4. Nike Women’s Running Shoes // 5. Sunglass case // 6. Hobo handbag // 7. Pandora bracelet // 8. Spafinder gift card // 9. Charge It wristlet // 10. Aromatherapy oils + Oil diffuser // 11. Mini succulent // 12. Rocket Racoon // 13. Unicorn popper
So, there you have it. Just a few of my favorite things, just a little something to give my husband and kids some ideas. They don’t have to buy everything from the guide (I wouldn’t argue with them if they did!).
Feel free to use my gift guide to brainstorm over items you actually like and would enjoy getting.
What has been the best “thing” you’ve received from loved ones for Mother’s Day?
